• The JTC TimMac@Kranji sets out to break the stereotypical image of an industrial building, combining innovative land intensification methods with extensive sustainable architectural measures. To efficiently use the long, linear site, a single heavy vehicle ramp was cleverly designed to effectively serve two buildings, each with its own different set of floors levels and tenants. The implementation of numerous vertical greenery and sky gardens creates ground planes at different levels, easing the future tenants’ transition from typical single storey flat to multi-storey complex. In addition, these green features soften the edges of the building form, reducing its ecological impact on the wildlife of nearby Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve.

  • Overlooking the Kallang River, the 30 storey mixed-use condominium development commands stunning panoramic views of the Kallang riverside waterfront. The ground floor is envisioned as a fenceless public space, encouraging fluid pedestrian circulation between the development and the surrounding park. Lush greenery is incorporated extensively in the design, with sky gardens, planters and green walls well integrated into every public and residential communal area, providing a seamless transition between the park and the development. This project represents a keen response to the site conditions and the need to design a more liveable and sustainable mode of vertical living in our dense urban environment.

  • The Star Furniture Complex is a 7-Storey single-user building comprising of warehouses, a showcase area, ancillary offices and commercial spaces. The site is located at the emerging industrial community of Sungei Kadut. The external facade is designed with folded sheets of metal panels with contrasting hues. The space at the promenade is enhanced by landscaping and sculpture. Undulating ceiling planes visually connect the main entrance and the interior spaces. The corridor is kept clear from both ends to enhance the visual connection. To achieve seamless and a barrier free design at ground level, the zones between the outdoor and indoor public spaces (the covered and open walkways, lobby, public accessible spaces / public plaza), are integrated on one gentle slope culminating with the roadside pedestrian walkway, cycling paths and landscaping.

  • ID Architects has been commissioned to design Neo Garden's flagship headquarters and production facility. With the core of a food catering business built from the ground up, Neo Garden's new facility showcases their corporate philosophy of a vibrant character evident in the facade design elements. Internally, the spaces within the new structure features several food preparation and processing areas, expansive meeting areas, showcase centres, and a generous allocation of landscaping and sky gardens. Being true to its corporate culture of valuing its staff, the design also provides facilities for employees' well-being: recreational areas and adequate working zones.

  • As an exemplary showcase of the possibilities of sustainability in an industrial building, the Applied Materials Building seeks to comprehensively combine technological solutions with architectural design measures. To achieve this, the building possesses an in-depth suite of solutions to tackle electrical, cooling, water and work environment efficiency, with features such as rainwater harvesting, reusing treated greywater, energy efficient lighting and one of the largest solar farms in Singapore. All these technological features work in tandem with the courtyards, extensive green walls and effusive natural lighting throughout the entire building.

  • Skygreens is an innovative sustainable farming ecosystem that harnesses resources from the sun, wind and rain, employing concepts of the circular economy. It encompasses not only farming, but supporting facilities like commercial, production, tourism, education and research. It is formed by the arrangement of many farming modules that are master planned to fit any context and scale all over the world. Each module consists of a vertical rotating vegetable farming system at the upper level, supporting facilities and livestock/aquaculture at the lower level. The SkyGreens Hub works symbiotically with smaller singular modules called MicroFarms, serving as a base for collection of farming output from the MicroFarms and functioning as a processing, distribution and knowledge transfer centre.
