#idarchMMB2017: Meet my Boss Day!
With the huge support of Focus on the Family, IDA launched our very first Meet My Boss Day! We invited our colleagues to bring their kids to work for a day of activities. The day started off with a Love Literate workshop facilitated by trainer, Darren Tan, followed by lunch with the bosses. After lunch, they had a taste of what it is like to be an Architect. As a team, they designed their very own school, and had the opportunity to enter the school they designed in virtual reality.

#idarchcharity2017: Hippo Tour with MINDS
The Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) is a voluntary welfare organization, better seen as a community, that provides support to and advocates the interests and causes of persons with intellectual disability. Among donating to the needy, IDA believes it is important to connect and interact with members who benefit from our contributions.
This year, we booked one of Singapore’s infamous Hippo private buses and took the members of MINDS on a city tour through Singapore. We stopped at Gardens by the Bay for some photo ops, and headed back to MINDS for a lunch gather. The joy and appreciation seen on these members’ faces, and the opportunity to witness our colleagues’ compassion and interaction with the members, made all the planning, and braving the heat, worth it. You can visit MINDS here.

#idarchfamilyday2016: Office Turned Entertainment Hub
6 months after moving into our new and chic office, we decided to throw a family game day to show off our new work space. Overnight, we transformed the entire office into pockets of entertainment spots, which included a cinema room, karaoke, art station, computer and video game stations, chalkboard graffiti wall, and of course, lots of food. We had no idea how we would squeeze over 60 people into this space, but we did, and it was a blast! #idarchfamilyday2016

#idarchsrilanka: Not Your Usual Company Trip
Forget your typical metropolitan company tours, we saddled up and flew to the beautiful, authentic, and untouched Sri Lanka. Besides the important landmarks, our adventures included long bumpy coach rides, tea tasting, elephant feeding, and Geoffrey Bawa works in between. We then took the opportunity to pay a visit (and shopped!) to our very first project in Sri Lanka, House of Fashions Mega Mall, completed in 2013. A couple of mishaps, a load of crazy adventures, and a delayed return flight later, we’re back in first world Singapore with many stories to tell. #idarchsrilanka

#idarch28: IDA Turns 28 Sci-fi/Fantasy Style
From moving to a new office, to being declared one of BCI Asia’s Top Ten Architects, turning 28 was definitely one of those significant milestones we hit in 2016. This year, we (and some of our spouses) showed up dressed as super heroes and various characters to join our sci-fi/fantasy themed annual dinner. We were greeted with a giant green screen photo booth, and our photos were later edited with fun backgrounds to suit our costumes. The evening kicked off with a video that compiled a series of commentaries from everyone around the office, and then progressed into a night of food, games, prizes, and costume contest – our winner was Tinker Bell! #idarch28
