Situated in Sungei Kadut International Furniture Park (IFP), SK18 is a proposed new furniture showroom with production facilities. The proposed new building is located along International Furniture Street with 3 of its sides facing the driveway, which is also a public promenade. Likelihood of having a new MRT station just across the junction, SK18 will be a prime location within the IFP in future. The concept for this new building was inspired by a series of overlapping organic planes. Wood, being the core material to manufacture furniture, will be used and be reflected on its external façade. A 9m high clear glass on the first storey will form a seamless transition between the exterior and interior spaces. Different types of furniture will be showcased on this level which will enhance and stimulate public movement along the promenade.
